Mordechai Rabinowitz, management consultant, has worked in the cross-cultural arena for over 25 years. He has held positions in the U.S., Russia, Italy, Israel and Austria, and is adept at bridging the gap between contrasting business cultures. His personal interest in Russian language and culture led him to concentrate on the developing market in Russia in the 1990’s. He opened his own company in Moscow to import and distribute American-manufactured medical equipment, and pioneered the introduction of oxygen-on-demand technology to the former Soviet Union. Fluent in Russian, and with an MBA from UCLA, Mordechai has been involved with a wide variety of U.S.-Russian ventures. These projects include equipment leasing and the planned launch of U.S. telecommunications satellites with Russian and Ukrainian boosters. He worked for 7 years with Coopers & Lybrand in the areas of Healthcare, Information Systems, and Telecommunications as a management consultant. Mordechai has served as a cross-cultural trainer and facilitator for a U.S. high-tech firm with a subsidiary in Moscow, where he coached Russian executives and facilitated communications between the U.S. and Russian offices, as well as translated and administered performance reviews in Russian. He has also worked with the implementation of accounting, property management, and job costing software in the commercial real estate leasing arena. With a passion for the arts, he helped the Los Angeles Opera orchestrate behind-the-scenes logistics for the visit of 120 members of the Kirov Opera symphony. Mordechai has worked with a broad range of clients and organizations spanning many industries, including: TRW's Space and Electronics Group, International Development Business Consultants, MCA-Universal Studios, NBC West Coast, the Los Angeles Opera, the Federal Savings and Loan Insurance Corporation, and Teleflora. He has worked on several major DL&A projects for such clients as: Merck & Co, Inc., Silicon Graphics and Qualcomm, Inc. His most recent DL&A engagement involves global survey design, data collection in 15 languages and analysis of cross cultural issues in worldwide subsidiaries. Mordechai is enthusiastic about helping others to work effectively across the globe. In particular, because of his level of fluency in Russian and his familiarity with Russian business protocol, he is completely at ease conducting all aspects of business and social exchange in Russian (including negotiations, conflict resolution, sales and marketing, and alliance-building). Having lived and worked in Russia, Mordechai has a first-hand understanding of Russian culture and society and offers personal insight into bridging the culture gap between Russian and American business cultures. He has conducted highly successful global business preparations programs on Russia, and has provided consulting on related management, operations and cross-cultural issues. |
