DL&A Associate: Cecilia Gomez, M.A.

Cecilia Gomez, a native of Buenos Aires, Argentina, holds a B.A. in Communications with Honors from the Universidad Argentina de la Empresa (UADE), as well as advanced studies in Language Teaching, Translation, and Corporate Training from the Instituto Lenguas Vivas in Buenos Aires.

She holds an M.A. in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) from San Jose State University, having graduated with an honorary degree. She also completed a Professional Certificate in Training & Human Resource Development from UC Santa Cruz Extension, as well as advanced intercultural-communication training courses at UC Berkeley Extension and the Intercultural Communication Institute.

Cecilia has more than eight years of international experience in the fields of language training, cross-cultural communication, e-learning, and intercultural, international management. She is an expert in blending the best of the traditional and the latest instructional methods in her training seminars.

Cecilia is fluent in English and Spanish, and has achieved a conversational level in Brazilian Portuguese and German. She has also studied French and Italian, and has traveled and conducted business extensively in Latin America. Cecilia has presented at more than 17 international training conferences in the U.S. and Latin America on matters of language and intercultural training, and has held several Train-the-Trainer seminars on these issues. She is a current member of American Society for Training and Development (ASTD), National Association for Bilingual Education (NABE), HispanicCEONet, SIETAR, and American Association for Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese (AATSP).
