DL&A Associate: Frank K. Chooi, Ph.D.

Frank K. Chooi, Ph.D., born in Malaysia, specializes in cross-cultural training and development, international business consulting and clinical psychology. He has lived and worked in Malaysia, Australia, and Singapore and, since 1978, the United States. Frank is fluent in Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese) and Malaysian. He has designed and delivered cross-cultural training for public and private sector organizations in the San Francisco Bay Area, including Hewlett-Packard, the Mt. Diablo Chinese Cultural Association, and Light Impressions. In addition, he has partnered with George Simons, an internationally renown leader in the field of diversity training, in providing workshops across the country. He is a business consultant on U.S. Affairs & Policy for Vitapro, L.L.C. (Malaysia). Frank taught graduate school for seven years at St. Mary's College (Moraga, California) and the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of California and the Graduate Theological Union, an M.A. from Loyola University and a B.A. from Melbourne University, Australia. Frank combines his knowledge of psychology, including personality and behavior, with cross-cultural expertise to help business people work and communicate more effectively across cultures.
